Only 18 miles west of Colorado Springs, Woodland Park is just minutes away, but worlds apart! Surrounded by wilderness, bathed in sunshine, and nestled among one million acres of Pike National Forest, Woodland Park is a small townin the South Central region of Colorado with loads of charm and friendliness. Natural surroundings include spectacular views of Pikes Peak, thick stands of spruce, pine and aspen, deep blue skies, and fresh mountain air.
As the Midland Railway moved its way up Ute Pass adjacent to the Ute Indian Trail, Daniel Steffa platted his ranch into a town site called Manitou Park. To avoid confusion with Dr. Bell's Manitou Park, the name was changed to Woodland Park when the town was incorporated in 1890. The sunny meadows and mild climate drew both health and pleasure seekers. Many stayed to establish permanent residences, businesses, and summer homes.
Following the demise of mining and the advent of automobiles, Woodland Park has become a destination spot for many tourists. Woodland Park, the home of your inspected and approved bed and breakfast, is close to many area attractions including Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek and its limited stakes gambling, Royal Gorge, Garden of the Gods, the Olympic Training Center, Cave of the Winds, hiking, fishing, rafting, horseback riding, biking, golfing, and much more. It's the perfect spot for family reunions, corporate retreats, weddings, a family vacation, or a romantic weekend getaway!
